The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Paul Emeziem, has been impeached.
The Speaker was impeached on Monday by 19 of 27 members of the State House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, the member representing Obowo State Constituency, Kennedy Ibeh, has been elected as the new Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

Gov. Elect of  Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo The United States Government has hailed the outcome of the just-concluded 2021 Anambra State Governorship Election. This was contained in a statement from the US Mission in Nigeria, titled, ‘Statement on the concluded Anambra State gubernatorial election’ on Wednesday. The US government said the outcome of the election reflected the will of the people. The PUNCH had reported that a former Governor of Central Bank and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, won the November 6 governorship election in Anambra.
